When she asked the question, Karuri kind of bit her lip until it bled.
"Well... I never had met my real parents. But I was adopted... they were 2 very loving parents too..." She took a deep breath as she continued walking. "Well...but then my adopted parents died in a ship wreck... I was 14 years old then. It was 3 years ago." Karuri kind of looked down as she spoke.

"I'm sorry about that. I am glad you had a slightly better experience with parents than I have." The elevator arrived and its doors opened. She looked down at Karuri, "After you."

"Thank you" She sort of gave her a small bow. She walked into the elevator and waited for Dusty. "So... your parents... were never kind? How did you manage to get through that...? I hope you don't mind me asking these questions..." She said once again. "It's just that I like having conversation..."

She stepped into the elevator after Karuri and pushed the lobby button, "I suppose they thought in their own way that they were being kind and caring but it was really just them being selfish." She sighed and looked at the view outside, "I just managed to get through it in my own way I suppose. I love my brothers, I am the closest to them. But when I was younger, still a toddler and child, I really didn't know that what my parents were doing was cruel. But as I grew up I looked at my older sisters I saw what they were like and knew I didn't want to be like them."

She looked at Dusty with a pondreing face.
"What is it like to have siblings...?" Karuri asked curiously. "You see... I've never had siblings... well none that I know of..." She scratched the side of her face.
"So you see... I really don't know what it's like...what is it like?"

The elevator stopped at the lobby and opened its doors, a few people Dusty recognized stepped into the elevator and she nodded at the them while they saluted her. She strode through the elevator doors and looked back to Karuri, "It can be rather frustrating a lot of the time, but deep down you know that you love each other." Dusty smiled as she thought about her brothers, she hadn't seen them in so long. "But then there are some that you can never reason with and things never get better with them." She sighed as she thought of her older sisters.

Karuri's mood went from depressing to more curious. She stepped out of the Elevator and followed Dusty.
"Well, what was it like growing up with them... as a child. Do you think they helped balance out your relationship with your parents...?" She asked.

Dusty stopped as the entrance to the government building, "I would say my relationship with my brothers help, but definitely not my sisters. They just gave into what my parents were doing to them." She frowned but shook her head softly and smiled "Well it was nice talking to you but now I have to get back to work. I hope you enjoy your stay with Mr. Babek. I may check with you all later.." She smiled and began to walk back to the elevators.

Karuri smiled back at Dusty and watched her walk back towards the elevators. I sure wish I had some siblings... she thought to herself. She headed out towards the lobby and took out the "thing-a-ma-jigger" that Ruhk had given to them so she could find the shop. Now let's see if this thing works... she thought.
