It had been a tiring day of... well... nothing, for Clawrence. Having to hang around with trees can be boring for a while with hardly anyone to talk to, so he decided to poke around in this space station.
Upon his walking around, he noticed a Tavern nearby, and yearning for some contact with particular beings, he headed inside...
It was cozy looking, with several people inside. He headed toward the counter by the stools, and took a seat.

Other people might get bored of the same surrounding day in and day out, but Mirror seemed to be an exception. There wasn’t a single person who could honestly say that they had been in her Tavern and not seen Mirror.
This time was no exception, within a few seconds of entering the bar, Mirror was already mentally deciding what to serve the new face. “Haven’t seen ya’ in here before. Name’s Mirror, you?” A glass of some strange olive green liquid had already been placed in front of the stool Clawrence occupied.

"Eh? Oh, my name is Clawrence," he gave a friendly smile, and a wave. "I'm obviously new here...."
He gave a sip of the drink that was brought to him. Giving an inquisitive look, he asked, "What is this stuff?"

Mirror grinned. “Claw-rence? Well Claw-boy, you seem ta’ be rather astute, why not guess what ya’ jus’ took a sip of?” Rather then walking off to serve more customers, Mirror rested her forearms on the counter, her chin rested atop them. “I will tell you that you owe me about 450 creds now though.”

"Er... what?!"
Clawrence placed his hands in his coat pocket, looking rather nervous.
"I have some money from my home planet, Earth. Do you know how much that would be in American money? Heh..."

Mirror gave him a strange look “Paper currency hasn’ been used fer’ centuries kid, I wouldn’ know how ta’ covert it.” Stifling a yawn, Mirror took the drink away and pointed towards the door. “No money, no drinks, no reason ta’ be ‘ere.”

Clawrence sighed, rather heavily, and got off of his stool. Heading towards the door, he stopped and thought to himself.
"Wait... ma'am? Could there be any other way I could repay you?" His blue eyes looked earnestly into hers.

Mirror grinned and pointed towards the backroom. “Well ya’ could always work fer me, I could always use an extra hand or two washin’ dishes and makin’ the food fer the meal crowds. That is assuming’ ya’ know how at’ cook an’ clean.”

Clawrence's eyes lit up. "Do I?" Upon saying this, he became greatly enthused enough to skip back to his abandoned seat.
"Why I know everything there is to being a household servant. It's what I used to be years ago... So of course! I like cleaning things! And taking care of plants, if you have any..."

Mirror laughed as she started walking towards the back room. She waved a hand as an indication for him to follow her. “We’re in the middle of space, ona’ hunk of metal. Ya’ think I got greenery ‘ere?” She placed her thumb on a small panel located ontop of he door handle and waited for a second before a quiet beep unlocked the door for her. “If yer’ so gung-ho ‘bout the entire thing, I might aveta’ hire ya’ on fulltime. But we’ll see ‘ow ya’ do today ‘fore we decide anything’, m’kay?”
The main room of the tavern may have been warm, cozy and decently clean, but the backroom was the exact opposite. The first thing one say was stacks and stacks of barrels of various sizes, colors, and shapes. Half of them seemed to be opened and partially used while the other half could have been brand-new or as old as the station for all anyone knew. Once past the barrels, it was the kitchen. Set up much like a large restaurant back on Earth, there were multiple stove tops, sinks, kitchen utensils hanging about in various conditions, and all of it seemed to be either covered with dust, some sort of food, or liquor bottle. And that was only the first backroom.
“Scared yet?”

As she asked that question, Clawrence did have this strange sense of deja vu coming on to him. It was a discomforting feeling, but he wasn't afraid.
"Nah, I'm not" he said, while shaking his head.

“Good, then ya’ can start wit’ cleanin’ the storage rooms. I keep all the really ‘portant ‘gredients in the secon’ backroom, so dun’ worry ‘bout goin’ in there. I would suggest startin’ wit’ the kitchen area, since I’m goin’ ta’ leave ya’ in there fer most of the time.” Mirror absently waved towards the line of stoves and sinks acting as the kitchen area before moving back towards the door. “My cousins are out, so I’m the only one ‘ere at the moment. I’ll be out front at the bar if ya’ have any questions.”

Clawrence looked around him. The dusty floors, the rusty faucets, the pile of dishes in the sink. He could almost hear them crying, "Please... scrub me..." "So you want me to just wash and dust this place? Tidy it up basically?"

Mirror nodded at him before going back out front and leaving Clawrence to his cleaning. She could always use the extra help, and while her unknown amount of cousins were helpful in cooking and serving drinks occasionally, the bulk of the work was always left to Mirror. Plus if she had someone actually thoroughly clean the place for once, maybe she could finally get around to finally creating new types of drinks for her patrons.
