Another chip in the paint

Anyone on the docks would have heard the screeches, scraps, and a final large slam into port 13. Most shrugged it off as the ghosts, quickening their paces as the talked, yet in actuality is was far from the dead. Well, not that far, not after that crash parking job. The ship itself was looked no worse then it had previously though, maybe a little more scratched paint and a few more dents, but nothing that horrid.

From the ship, that had a large belly dancer painted on one side and a large phoenix on the other, emerged two winged males, Ruhk and Azar. “BLOODY FUCK GRANDPA! You totally scratched my dancer’s hip! That took forever to finish!” Stubby wings angrily flapped as Ruhk coninuted to rant and rave about his painting on the ship. Azar simply smiled and nodded, checking on the wares before locking the ship rather then listening to his grandson’s hissy-fit.

“Hm, this feels like a good place to set up shop.”

Entering through a port near by, Krenz stepped out from his small but new looking ship and swung his luggage bag over his shoulder.

"Ah, no place like home..." He said quietly to himself. He turned and looked, overhearing the word "fuck" ringing through one ear to what appeared to be 2 people fighting.

It wasn’t so much two people fighting, but one person happily getting ready to scout out locations and another flapping up a storm as he repainted part of the ship with paint that one would assume he had in his pocket.

“Oh no Ruhk, I remember how to drive the ship even though I’m 500 jillion years old..” Ruhk muttered in a mocking voice as he finished up the final touches on the side of the ship. Azar, the old bird, tested out a cane he carried with him while his grandson continued to mutter as he put the paint back inside the ship.

A kind old smile never left Azar’s face, even when he spotted the young man who had arrived shortly after them. “Oh, why hello there young man.”

“Who the hell are you talking to now old man?” Ruhk grouchily said as he relocked their ship. “There’s no one there but-, why deary me, it’s a boy! And a pretty one at that. Helloooooo little boooyyyy~ come buy some medicine from the best store in the galaxy.”

"Hello" Krenz responded, slightly amused. "Well, I haven't come here to buy any medical supplies at the moment, but I'm sure I may need some eventually. I've come here to live here... well I've come BACK here to live here again to be more exact... I was gone from here for about a year..."

Krenz cleared his throat, "My name is Krenz...well that's what they call me anyway."

Ruhk grinned and hopped over to Krenz, his grandfather slightly nodding and smiling before he left to go find a location to set up shop without it scatterbrained grandson. The strange bubbly boy was still wiping paint off his hands and onto his pants by the time he had made his way to Krenz. “Well I wasn’t expecting an impromptu history blurb from you, but whatever works. Name’s Ruhk, and I’m sure I can sell you anything you need.” He struck a pose and blew the geeky looking man a kiss before finishing his little sales pitch. “Enhancements, herbs, potions, body parts, you name it, we got it.”

"Really?" he said curiously. He stroked his own chin for a moment and thought. "Is there...any sort of thing that you have... that can... numb the pain of past love... of someone who betrayed you... or make you forget it...either one or both is an interest to me..."

Krenz paused for a moment.

"Or am I just a crazy bastard who's asking for too much..." Krenz said, letting out a small laugh. He smiled shyly and sheepishly, scratching the back of his head.

Ruhk grinned, his stubby feathers happily fluttering as he dug around in one of his pockets. “Memory alteration? Easy! Well ok not really, it’s really hard to pinpoint memories. So I offer two options! First, we have Gruu pepper,” he held out one hand, in the center of it was a handful of gray, powdery looking seeds, “they dull emotions, make you kinda like a zombie. Three will last two hours, a handful will last a day. Any more then that and you start loosing emotion permenantly.” Placing the seeds back in his pocket, Ruhk pulled out a small vial that had been hanging on a chain around his waist. “Now this baby, this is called a waster. Wipes your memory completely if you drink the entire thing. The drawback is that it takes it all. Leaves you like you were when you were first pushed outta your momma, yet this time around you have less time left to experience life.”

“If you’re really careful about it, you could probably just take a drop and wipe just a few memories.” Ruhk starred at the vial for a moment then clipped it back on the chain. “Shame I couldn’t help you with that one though. You may be gorgeous, but I can’t legally use the waster on someone.”

Krenz looked at him and reached in his pocket to find some of his cash. "How much for that pepper?" He asked calmly digging for his wallet.

Ruhk grinned and got out his card reader. Something any good merchant was never without. With credits in use rather then tangible money, anyone who wanted money had to have a card reader to transfer currency. “Oh not that much, 8oz bag for only…. Well you are cute, so I’ll say 80,000 creds.” (mod note: that’d be like $800) Card reader in one hand, and a small pouch that looked roughly like a small handful of the Gruu pepper in the other, Ruhk donned his best salesman grin. Also known as the ‘lets see how far I can push them’ look.

"How about 60,000" he said grinning. "I've gotta eat and stuff you know...I'm tight on money till I get back in my old buisness again in the bookstore..."

A fake pout was the best way to describe the face Ruhk made “Aww, but we just got in too, we’ve got to get some creds to rent out a space and start up shop. Now while my poor old grandfather and I fly about in a junker, you have that fancy new ship, so you can spare the creds right?”

[krenz]

"The ship was passed down to me from my uncle that I ran into 3 years ago... he has no children so he had nobody to pass it down to..." He said "How about 70,000 creds?"

Krenz hesitated, but he thought Yeah...70,000

He took another long look at Krenz’ ship. “No, looks too new to be something handed down.” Ruhk made his way over to the newer ship, making his own appraisal of the spacecraft. “77,000 and not a cred less.” Flirt he may be, but money was money, not even looks were going to keep him from trying to earn as much money as he could.

"Deal" Krenz said, putting out his hand to shake Ruhk's. At least he had saved 3,000 creds, he didn't think he'd get a deal better than that for this stuff.

It wasn’t that Krenz could get a bewtter deal elsewhere, it was more like he’d have an almost impossible time finding another herbalist, let alone one who sold things that were questionable in origin.

Ruhk grinned and held out his card reader while shaking Krenz’s offered hand with the other. “Deal, now how about we go get a drink? I’d love to hear all about you and your pretty self.”
