Sollie blinked. Helpful bosses were extremely rare, but if he insisted..."W-well...all right then," she said.
"The shelves in question are this way, follow me."

He smiled and nodded and followed her. She seemed surprised about how nice he was being in helping her, which amused him a bit. He enjoyed being helpful, nonetheless. He had missed his work so much and seeing all around bookstore made him joyful.

When Sollie had found the shelves, she pulled the ladder (which she had gotten out earlier) over to where she needed it, and handed the stack of books to Krenz. Helpful though he was, she wasn't about to make him climb ladders.
"I've put them in order; make sure you hand them to me in the order they're stacked, from top to bottom."

Krenz nodded while looking up at her.
"Alright" he said. He began to hand her the books in order, from top to bottom. He noticed several co-workers walking by, but he didn't really care what they may have been thinking, he enjoyed being helpful.

And so it went; Krenz handed Sollie a book, and she shelved it; it went very efficiently, until...
"Hey, Sollie, after you're done with that, can you...what the hell?" said a voice from the other end of the shelf.
Sollie started. It was one of her other bosses. She groaned inwardly...she knew this would happen.
"What's going on, here? Who is this, and why are you making him help you?" The boss said.

Krenz turned around and fixed his glasses, looking at the other boss.
"Well, she didn't make me help her, I volunteered to help her." He calmly said to him. "I had finished all of my work, so I thought that I would make myself more useful." Krenz looked at him with calm eyes, he couldn't blame him for being confused and a little irriated, since he didn't know who he was.
"My name is Krenz, I'm also a boss here." He smiled. "I was just on vacation for about a year."

The boss quickly went white.
"Oh, you're Krenz," he stammered, "I'm so sorry, I had no idea you'd be coming today! Please forgive me; my name is Ilion Valchek. We don't normally offer to help the clerks, and they don't normally ask for help, so I guess I was just in shock. And I suppose in Sollie's case, well, being as clumsy as she is, she needs all the help she can get..." Sollie rolled her eyes a little here; she was used to these kinds of comments, and she supposed that Valchek was just trying to impress Krenz.

Krenz felt like laughing at this man's reaction, but of course he kept it to himself, successfully keeping a calm face.
"It's alright, misunderstandings to happen. I just usually don't like to have my hours go to waste when I have everything I needed to do for the day done already." Krenz said kindly, returning to help Sollie. "It was nice to have met you, Mr. Valchek." Krenz said, nodding to him.
