Valchz stood in the middle of the forest and took a deep breath of the fresh air that came from the depths of the green plants around him. He considered sitting on a bench to read a nice book, and the thought continued swimming in his mind. He saw a perfect place by a couple of rose bushes (full of purple roses), where he could take in their beautiful scent. He sat down on the bench and opened a notebook. He looked at the pages, pondering what to write. He suddenly began to hear strange noises that he had never heard in the forest foreign before. He felt an eerie chill go up his spine as he turned his head about, wondering what the horrid sound was. It was a high pitch sound that sounded like a cross between a small bird and a cat.
The sound made Valchz cover his ears tightly with his hands. The sound produced a sense of light-headedness along with a splitting head-ache. If a creature got on board eastern gate, it must have been smuggled aboard or it must have snuck on board itself on a ship without the driver noticing.

Kiwi happened to be walking through the forest when she heard the bird's beautiful song. It sounds exactly like a relcha from back home! She smiled to herself as she walked along the path, she had recently been thinking about going home. It had been far too long since she had been back there and she was beginning to get very homesick. She put her hair behind her ear and sighed in disappointment, if she went back she might put her family in danger and it would kill her inside if anything ever happened to them. Though it was finally nice to be able to hear something familiar from home.
As she was walking she heard a man groan in pain and spotted a him up ahead keeling over. She quickly ran over to him, concerned "Are you alright? Where are you hurt?" She began to dig around in her pockets and pulled out her communicator "Don't worry mister I will call for help." She pushed a few buttons on the pad and soon the com began to connect to the emergency medical center. "Some one will be here soon. Just hold on." She knelt in front of him, looking to him with concerned and worried eyes.

With the station in such disrepair, the privately medical center had been closed down. For emergencies they still had the government center for serious medical care, but that wasn’t the number Kiwi had dialed.
“Hello~ you’ve reached the wondrous Dancer’s Cure, alternative medical treatments provided by the gorgeous Ruhk Babek and his crusty old grandfather. Now aren’t you glad I picked up and not him? You should be, especially if the person calling in for medical help is a cutie who has a thing for bird boys.” It had taken 8 solid hours of flirting, whining, pouting, and three bribes in order to convince one of the smaller government lackeys to change the medical emergency frequency to his shop. Business had been doing poorly with people leaving the station, and this had seemed like the easiest way to get more work.
“Now what can Ruhk do for you?”

Valchz looked around; hearing a woman's voice, but it somehow wasn't as loud as the noise screeching in his ears. He looked at the woman that appeared to be trying to speak to him. He tried to read her lips to see what she was saying.
"Can't you hear that loud screeching?" Valchz asked, his eyebrow twitching. Suddenly his vision around him began to blur and he felt very faint. He felt himself slipping slowly from the bench and all he could hear now was echoes of the kind woman’s voice which seemed to be saying ‘Are you alright?’

Kiwi gasped and dropped her com on the ground as she reached to catch the man that was falling from the bench. She heard him softly say to her something about a loud screeching. "What do you mean the relcha?" She set the man down on the floor. "Don't worry someone is going to come."
She grabbed the com from the ground, "Yes sir? There is a man in serious pain in the forest. Please come, I don't know how to help him. Hurry." Her eyes began to water with all the emotion flowing inside of her "Please hurry I think he is dying."

"Whoa whoa little missy, calm down. I'll head over as fast as possible if you tell me where you are." In theory Ruhk should have been more worried, and less excited for a challenge. Yet it was hard to contain his anticipation. Mind you it wasn't helping that he was hearing a Relcha screech on about how he got away from his captors and found this wilderness after months of living in a box. The creature might not have been from his home world, but those noises were universal in the language of the birds. Wait, a Relcha? On Eastern Gate? How strange.

Valchz could feel the arms of Kiwi catch him. He still could hear the bird's screeching in his mind. His face became a little more pale and he could feel sweat streaming down his face. Boy I feel so...shity He thought to himself. I never thought the sound of a bird could have such a large effect on me...
His eyes were blurred, but he could still see Kiwi peering over him. Wait...is she crying? Over me? But why......over me? He thought. He continued to feel really miserable, but it was comforting for him to know that there were people on Eastern Gate that weren't cold hearted. He tried to map out the voices and figures before him in his mind, but it was difficult for him to figure out what was going on. Oh man...oh man...this is not...good... he thought.

"Yes we are in the forest a little farther up the east pathway. Please hurry. I cant seem to find any blood anywhere on him. Maybe someone poisoned him." She sniffed, "I can't believe I am going to hold this person in my arms while he dies! I don't even know his name!" She wiped at the tears that were falling down her face, she could not let this man die. She set the com down on the ground next to her so she could still hear is Ruhk said anything to her.
She leaned over the man who she had set down on the ground, "Don't worry someone is coming...just try to hold on okay? Everything will be okay soon." She began to tap her fingers against her knee as she quickly looked around for the man that was coming to save this man's life.

Ruhk darted out of the shop towards the forest, his wings doing little to help his already fast pace, but they did look adorable rapidly fluttering on his back. “Oy, Miss? Is the dude you’re watching any race that you can identify? Mari, er, that Relcha, or um… bird-creature in the background has started chirping on about how that man doesn’t seem to like her cries of joy.” Luckily for the lot of them, Ruhk was built for speed with his slim frame and lack of bulky muscles or fat. Within moments he had already made it to the entrance of the strange forest.
After a moments break, where he desperately tried to wipe the excited grin from his face, Ruhk quieted his breathing as much as possible and cups his ears with his hands so he could listen for Mari, the Relcha, rather then trying to figure out just which way was east. Sure he could’ve waited for more direction from the girl, but she sounded frantic and probably wouldn’t have provided much more assistance in helping him get there. Hey, he worked in an apothecary, not a navigation shop. Directions didn’t really come up as questions.
Before he had a chance to locate the extremely vocal creature, it had already flown over to Ruhk and had landed on the ground in front of him. The massive creature (a creature that had the ability to create such a booming devastating sound had to be quite large after all) had yet to stop it’s noise-making. Ruhk nodded along before responding in a quieter, slightly lower pitched chirping which roughly translated to: “No, no, that’s very sweet of you Mari, but I need to know where that man is. She says that he may be poisoned, so I need to get there as fast as possible. That way? Alright, I’ll follow you then.”

Valchz's thoughts felt like they were drifting, but they seemed to have fled to a correct conclusion. He pondered to himself, could it be possible that I've somehow received a poison that makes Endavions respond negatively to any bird's call? His mind became scattered and worried. This poisoning must have been deliberate, but who would have done such a thing? And who would have the antidote? He continued to hear echoes, and he could hear himself breathing heavily.

Kiwi looked back to the com "Not that I can tell he looks like an Earthling to me. Though the relcha's call aren't poisonous to them....hey where did it go? The relcha is gone." Kiwi slumped in disappointment it was nice to finally hear its beautiful song again. She shook her head, clearing her thoughts "Have to think of what is really important now Kiwi." She mumbled to herself as she turned worried eyes back to the man next to her. "Are you close by Sir? I don't know if he can hold on much longer." She said into the com.

Ruhk didn’t hear Kiwi’s last message since he had turned his com off sometime during his conversation with Mari. The Relcha technically hadn’t stopped squawking yet, and had moved on to talking about a time when the “stinky evil featherless meat head” brought home some lady. Ruhk did his best to ignore the creature’s babbling as he quickly followed after it, in hopes of reaching the two before that man the girl had been talking about died from whatever was ailing him. Maybe she found an Endavion, grandfather did say something about how certain members of that race had adverse reactions to certain pitches.
Sometime in the middle of a thought about the weird behaviors shown on humans during sleep, the Relcha made three fast circles around Kiwi and Valchz before landing and continuing her rant. To make matters worse, Ruhk quickly kneeled down by the two to give Valchz a quick look-over, but was asking Mari all the questions in his own version of the Relcha’s language rather then talking to the two who spoke English.

Valchz felt himself twitch a bit, hearing a whole bunch of babbling in another language. He was worried that he was born with this negative reaction to these certain pitches, and that it was in his blood. He hoped that he was merely tampered with, and given a poison, because that would explain why he had never had these types of reactions before. Something was wrong, really wrong.
He tried to think of a list of people who might have possibly wanted to poison him. The first person that came to mind was a cocky Endavion government official named "Joshak Givons" he was known for being great with poisons, though it wasn't something that he would just tell anyone. Now he was almost certain that he had poisoned him. He recalled going into a bar once, where he was waited on by a certain bartender who was friends with Joshak. He recalled having an abnormal dizziness after having just one drink. This was a special poison, a poison that would only be activated once a certain pitch is heard. Very sneaky, and cruel. The bastard he thought to himself and he thought he could get away with it and convince me that I merely inherited the gene of the pitch sensitivity...

Kiwi looked over to the man as he sat down next to her and the man on the floor and watched him talk to the relcha. He must be that one bird species...hmm...I cant think of its name right now. She smiled at him, and noted that he was attractive...she might have to talk with him later privately. She turned toward the bird native of her planet. She grinned at the bird warmly, her eyes softening, forgetting about the emergency at hand. It was so beautiful and calming to finally see something of her homeland. "You're so beautiful." She whispered.

((ooc: um, ruhk was just thinking about the blood thing, he didn't say it out loud you know...))
Ruhk happily chirped and began digging around in one of his sleeves on his loose shirt. "Oh I know I am, drop dead gorgeous-ness is my specialty my cute little Estrean." He very well knew that she was talking about Mari, but it didn't stop him from instantly switching from the Relchan dialect to Galactic Standard English. You couldn't just go around calling other creatures gorgeous and not get some kind of comment from Ruhk.
After another moment of digging, Ruhk pulled out a flat clear flask of a strange goopy liquid with rather disgusting looking chunks of orange and green stuck in it. "He's just a big baby this one, notice the coloring? Poor kid must have eaten something bad for him. That plus stress, plus Mari gabbing on about those humans. Well, it's all too much for him I guess."
If no one stopped him, Ruhk would've quickly poured the vile smelling down Valchz' throat as quickly as possible, then held his mouth shut to make sure he swallowed. "The easiest way to cure poisoning? Flush the system. So he's gonna start puking here in a second. I might step away if I were you."
